This is out of hand.

Went out last night.
Picked up a young lady of the night
Took her for a drive to a secluded back road I'm familiar with. There is an abandoned rock quarry near by that makes for a great dumping ground.

I saw a small figure standing in the middle of the road. I knew it was her. I just had a gut feeling.

I heard the most horrific sound I have ever heard in my life. It didn't sound human. It didn't sound like anything I have heard from this world.

At that point the passenger door of my car flew open. And the young lady disappeared.
I grabbed my .45 and stepped out of the car.

All I saw were glimpses of whatever this thing was. It was moving so fast. Unimaginably fast. IMPOSSIBLY fast and it was dragging the prostitute I had picked up. Well I think it was dragging her. It almost looked as if it was forcing her to run. Through trees, thickets, nothing stopped it.
She just kept screaming for me to help her stop running.

She just kept running.

All I found of her were 2 hands, severed at the wrist. Well not severed, they almost looked like ground hamburger at the wrist.

I heard a small laugh in the distance and I almost half expected to look up and see The Contortionist.
But unfortunately I did not.

There was a silhouette of who could only be Penelope.

And standing beside her was the silhouette of something, I can't even explain it.

It was about 12 feet tall. Long hulking arms. I didn't see it's lower torso.
But it's head.
It's fucking head looked like a horse's head.
Or A Caribou, Or a deer. Or something.
This is ridiculous.
This shit isn't real.
It cannot be real.
I'm the definition of a monster.

Not this.
What the fuck.

Until Next Time.
Me.

  1. @#!*% man. That is insane. I was there was more.

Either Penelope has allied herself with a brand new Fear, or perhaps she somehow gained the abillity to make her artwork come to life. Given all her talk about making new friends I'm honestly leaning towards the latter.
    That's just my opinion.

  2. Actually, Chris's theory holds some ground. But regardless of how she found them the truth remains: Penelope has found Fears, and she has found a way to work with them. Get out, if you can, if Penelope wasn't dangerous before, she is now.

  3. Raggedy, Cage- I took a look at the tropes page about fears. What I saw resembled none of them. I don't think her artwork is coming to life. I think she's drawing them after she meet's them. Why are they drawn to her? Are they after me? Are they after The Contortionist?

How many possible fears are there?

This is so far out of my league.

    Fuck.

  5. I don't know much about the Fears as a society, depending on how it is organized there could be anywhere from a few dozen Fears to billions, each of them diffrent. Givin how focused they are on Him I doubt it is option number two, although if I am wrong about that then there could very well be Fears with the desire to help humans, but regardless I doubt we are more than pawns to them. TV Tropes is quite a helpful resource, as long as you don't mind them addressing major issues in your life as fiction, but I take information where I can find it, and their's is quite reliable, check it often, I'm pretty sure they update frequently. As for why they are drawn to you and your friend, I commented on that all that I realisticaly can on your last post. I'm sorry I don't have any more information for you, but if I learn anything I'll let you know, in the meantime it might be a good idea to spend more time with your Contortionist, he may be able to help you, this is his world after all.

  6. Dia told me the fears were like a fucked up family... She wrote an article on the birth of the manufactured newborn to which the known fears apparently gathered. This makes me think that they aren't all against Ritter.

I'm speculating again but Penelope's friends may be something new that see an opportunity for.. power maybe? by latching on to her and opposing Ritter. They might just be manipulating her for their own ends by promising revenge on you

I wish I could be of more help to you in this Sunshine

  7. HEHEHEHE, THE FEARS. OH THE FEARS.

YA KNOW I ONCE MET THE COLD BOY. HE WAS TRYING TO FUCK WITH MY BOSS. THEY WERE PRETTY EQUAL IN A FIGHT TO. BY THE TIME THOSE TWO WERE DONE DUKEING IT OUT, MY BOSSES LABYRINTH LOOKED LIKE A FUCKIN ICE SKATING TUNNEL NETWORK.

NOT THE POINT. I THINK THIS THING I PROBABLY A NEW FEAR, POSSIBLY ONE REVOLVING AROUND VIOLENCE AND DESTRUCTION. KEEP AN EYE OUT MATE. ITS ALWAYS THE BRUTAL ONES THAT GET YA IN THE END.

  8. For all we know, if we go on the theory that Penelope made her friends, perhaps she herself may have become his become a Fear. It's a stretch but @#!*% , anything is possible.

  10. Everyone- So there are obviously more of these spectres out there than The Contortionist. If they're like a family, would they fight amonst themselves? Why in the fuck does it seem like they're after me? I mean I'm no worse than they are really.

    And yes..
I saw her drawing of the creature I saw.
    It's spot on.

    What do I do now?

    Until Next Time.

  11. I would guess that it's quite possible for a power struggle or other discontent to emerge in that family.

As to why Penelope's friends are after you... Well I'm pretty sure it's not a matter of who is worse than who. Part of it could be that they see you as an ally to Ritter, who they're against and thus an enemy.

Also, there must be a reason why they've seemingly latched on to her. If they need Penelope or otherwise see her as beneficial to their plans then they may be after you as a means to keep her in line...

Or she could be manipulating them...

As for what to do... I have no idea... Running might buy you some time...

Other than that... well the only things I can think of seem completely crazy

Upon seeing that picture of Wendi, I responded with "Wendigo?" to which Penelope seemed to confirm

If these creatures are the stuff of old legends, then perhaps you can find these legends and see if anyone has written what can kill them...

The other thing is to make them a better offer than whatever she might have promised.

Neither of these seem like particularly good options though... I just can't think of anything else. I'm sorry

  12. I challenge anyone who has never gotten in a fight with their family to step forward, no people who haven't met theirs don't count, no one, good, glad that's out of the way. The abilities and interactions of these creatures are well beyond our knowledge, these fights could literally be nothing more than an argument over who gets to eat dinner first. Of course, the Fears (based on what little we know of them) present themselves as an intensely powerful family, and throuhgout history powerful families have had no problem killing each other off so that they don't have to share their power. As for what to do, my advise is the same as always: get out of that area. Moving around is nothing new to you, just leave town and hope your freind finds you before Penelope and her friends do.

  13. They might have a ridiculous amount of infighting, but ultimately even when they're killing each other, they just form new bodies for themselves. They make new games and plans and ideas to amuse themselves with. Give them a better idea than this little girl has given them. Up the game plan, make her look like a puppeteer looking up at God. In a way, they're like mercenaries. They go to the highest bidder, and in this case, we normally don't know the price they want. We can only hope to keep from jumping from the pan to the fire.
